Overview

Solve is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support a wide range of accounting and administrative duties at Solve. Successful candidates will have up to one year of accounting experience in a creative, fast-paced environment with an ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise. The Accounting Assistant will also be co-responsible for keeping our office up-and-running on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will bring high, fast-paced energy to the role.

SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE
  • Maintain accounts receivable reports including but not limited to monthly sales, open invoices, and aging reports
  • Monitor accounts payable; following up on outstanding balances when required and post accounts payable invoices into accounting system
  • Interact with vendors and account managers to process and resolve account discrepancies
  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, informing team members of visitors)
  • Welcome clients, vendors and other visitors into the agency, manage the phones, keeping supplies stocked and the overall appearance of the office in order highlight some of the main duties
  • Perform clerical receptionist duties such as filing, and submission of management expense reports
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Receive credit card receipts and reconcile against corporate credit cards
  • Maintain accounting department files and records
  • Enter information into accounting data entry system in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with administration of our accounting and resource management system
  • Assist with month-end close and runs monthly reports as required
  • Process Vendor 1099 forms at year-end
  • Perform general clerical duties to support office needs
Qualifications
  • Minimum Associate Accounting degree, and six months to one year of accounting experience (understand general ledger)
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Experience with Workamajig or other project management software is a plus
